Once upon a today, in a nearby land, live many beautiful prince and princess cats who dream of their furrytale endings. To give these deserving cats their happily ever after, Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) is offering free adoptions* of our adult cats (5+) through the month of June—national “Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat” month.
“We consider our mature cats the fairest felines in YHS’ cat kingdom,” said Jenna Miller, YHS’ cat adoption supervisor. “Their age offers many benefits for their owners. Adult cats require less attention and supervision than kittens; they usually adapt more quickly and comfortably into their new home; settle in easier with existing pets; and generally do well around children—being able to tolerate a certain amount of handling but dismissing themselves when they need a break.”
The free-adoption offer is valid at YHS’ adoption center (1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott) and the PetSmart Cat Adoption Center (277 Walker Road, Prescott). All YHS pets are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed, and current on flea and tick preventative care—a package worth $402 in value. Every animal adopted at YHS is also eligible for one free introductory wellness exam with a local veterinarian of your choice.
All adopters must still adhere to all YHS adoption policies and speak with an adoption counselor prior to being able to adopt. It is recommended that you bring a copy of your lease agreement, all the members of your household to get acquainted during a “meet and greet” with your prospective new family member.
