We are currently recruiting for a full-time Certified Veterinarian Technician at Yavapai Humane Society’s Spay and Neuter Clinic, working Tuesday – Friday (No weekend hours or emergency duties). Candidates with a positive, outgoing, energetic personality with strong customer service skills, computer skills, problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in helping animals should apply. Essential functions are managing multiple tasks, completing medical examinations of animals; administrating vaccination, prep for surgery and assisting during surgery, monitoring the health of shelter animals; renders animal first aid and emergency treatment as necessary, cleaning kennels, feeding, watering and general care for animals, and updating electronic records. This position requires a lot of standing and walking, and frequent crouching or stooping, kneeling, reaching and bending. The candidate for this position must be able to lift and carry, pull or push 50-70 pounds unassisted. High school diploma or G.E.D.; veterinarian technician certification is required. Education may be substituted with work experience. Applicants must have the ability to handle animals humanely and safely and properly control animals that may be sick or injured. The Yavapai Humane Society is currently recruiting for a part-time, 15-20 hours a week, Development Assistant. This position provides a range of data management/entry, event and administrative support to the Director of Development and department staff as needed. The primary role of this position is to manage the core department operations including gift processing, donor receipts/acknowledgment, maintaining integrity of donor and contributed income financial records, and assistance with fundraising events. Previous experience managing donor/prospect databases effectively, analytical skills in data entry and database management is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience. YHS is seeking a computer literate candidate with a positive, out-going and energetic personality with experience building relationships within the local community. Candidates must have strong written/verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask. The Yavapai Humane Society is seeking a Marketing Intern. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Development, the Marketing and PR Intern assists the Marketing Department with day-today activities. He/she will help generate a greater awareness of the Yavapai Humane Society throughout our service areas. The intern will also assist with special projects, special events (adoptions, fundraisers, etc.) and cause marketing campaigns.
