The Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) is nestled in the beautiful mile-high Bradshaw Mountains of Arizona, just 90 minutes north of Phoenix.  YHS is one of the most progressive and innovative animal welfare programs in the nation and is currently recruiting for the following positions:

Veterinarian Technician – Main Shelter-Clinic

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Veterinarian Technician at Yavapai Humane Society’s Main Shelter-Clinic, salary is negotiable based on previous work experience.  Candidates with a positive, outgoing, energetic personality with strong customer service skills, computer skills, problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in helping animals should apply.  Essential functions are managing multiple tasks, completing medical examinations of animals; administrating vaccination, prep for surgery and assisting during surgery, monitoring the health of shelter animals; renders animal first aid and emergency treatment as necessary, cleaning kennels, feeding, watering and general care for animals, and updating electronic records.  This position requires a lot of standing and walking, and frequent crouching or stooping, kneeling, reaching and bending. The candidate for this position must be able to lift and carry, pull or push 50-70 pounds unassisted.  High school diploma or G.E.D.; veterinarian technician certification or one year experience in this field, is required. Education may be substituted with work experience.  Applicants must have the ability to handle animals humanely and safely and properly control animals that may be sick or injured. Veterinarian Assistant – Spay/Neuter Clinic

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Veterinarian Assistant at Yavapai Humane Society’s Spay and Neuter Clinic, working Tuesday – Friday (No weekend hours or emergency duties) with the starting salary of $10.00/hr.  Candidates with a positive, outgoing, energetic personality with strong customer service skills, computer skills, problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in helping animals should apply.  Essential functions are managing multiple tasks, completing medical examinations of animals; administrating vaccination, prep for surgery, monitoring the health of shelter animals; renders animal first aid and emergency treatment as necessary, cleaning kennels, feeding, watering and general care for animals, and updating electronic records.  This position requires a lot of standing and walking, and frequent crouching or stooping, kneeling, reaching and bending. Supervisor – Lost & Found Division

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Supervisor for Lost & Found Division with the starting salary of $31,200/yr.  Candidates must have prior supervisor experience with strong leadership skills and exceptional problem solving skills, including experience counseling, coaching and mentoring employees.  In addition, this position requires decision-making skills, dispute and conflict resolution and handling money including opening and closing responsibilities. Essential functions are managing multiple tasks, supervising employees, overseeing the welfare of animals, preparing and maintaining records and reports, working independently, and providing staff training.  Responsible for writing performance reviews and handle any counseling issues when necessary.  This position requires a lot of standing and walking, and frequent crouching or stooping, kneeling, reaching and bending and the ability to lift and carry, pull or push 50-70 pounds unassisted.  There are frequent interruptions and a lot of repetitive motions.  High school diploma or G.E.D is required.  Prior shelter/animal welfare experience is a plus, but not a must.  Please send resumes to jobs@yavapaihumane.org.

Internships:

Marketing and PR Intern

(10-20 hours/week, unpaid - college credit may apply)
The Yavapai Humane Society is seeking a Marketing Intern.  Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Development, the Marketing and PR Intern assists the Marketing Department with day-today activities. He/she will help generate a greater awareness of the Yavapai Humane Society throughout our service areas.  The intern will also assist with special projects, special events (adoptions, fundraisers, etc.) and cause marketing campaigns.
